Unique Identification Number (UID) in India
Indian government has came up with an idea to create a multipurpose unique identity card for each of its citizen. The card will essentially be an identity proof that will use biometrics to store various data about the holder like fingerprints, photo of face and iris. The card will be a multipurpose one, and a person can use it as a ration card, driving license and for many other purposes.
